KARACHI: A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi, led by Deputy Chief Saifuddin Advocate, visited the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Thursday to congratulate its newly elected office-bearers.

The delegation included Saifuddin Advocate, who is also opposition leader in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), MPA Muhammad Farooq, JI Karachi Secretary Information Zahid Askari, Senior Deputy Secretary Information Sohaib Ahmed and Deputy Secretary Asad Farooq. The JI leaders called on KPC Secretary Muhammad Aslam Khan and other office-bearers.

During the visit, the JI leaders congratulated the newly elected body on their success and presented bouquets and sweets. KPC Secretary Muhammad Aslam Khan thanked the delegation for the visit and briefed them on the issues being faced by the journalists’ community in Karachi.

Speaking on the occasion, Saifuddin Advocate said Jamaat-e-Islami has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the journalists’ fraternity for the protection of their rights and the resolution of their problems. He said the party’s prayers and best wishes were with the Karachi Press Club and the entire journalist community.
