ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force has successfully conducted the flight test of the indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s aerospace and defence capabilities.
According to the ISPR, the Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile is capable of engaging both land and sea targets with high precision at a range of up to 600 kilometres.
The missile carries a conventional warhead and is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and guidance systems, enabling it to fly at very low altitudes to evade hostile air and missile defence systems.
The successful test significantly enhances the PAF’s conventional deterrence and operational flexibility, contributing to Pakistan’s overall defence posture. ISPR said the achievement reflects the growing technical maturity, innovation, and self-reliance of the country’s defence industry.
The launch was witnessed by senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces, along with scientists and engineers involved in the development of the weapon system.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the scientists, engineers, and the PAF team on the achievement, praising their professionalism and dedication. He reaffirmed that such advancements underscore Pakistan’s resolve to achieve technological self-sufficiency and maintain a credible conventional deterrent amid an evolving regional security environment.
The successful test, ISPR added, demonstrates the Pakistan Air Force’s continued pursuit of operational readiness, technological superiority, and national security objectives.
