NLC installs modern scanners at Sost and Gabd to facilitate cross-border trade with China & Iran
To further facilitate cross-border trade and reinforce cargo security, the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has installed latest-generation scanning systems at two of Pakistan’s most critical trade gateway of Sost Dry Port near Khunjerab and the Gabd Border Terminal on the Pakistan–Iran border.
These cutting-edge scanners, capable of scanning a fully loaded vehicle in 22 seconds, represent a major upgrade in border management. The high-speed performance not only accelerates the clearance process but also minimizes congestion, reduces dwell times for transporters and enhances the overall efficiency of supply chains passing through these important corridors.
Equipped with advanced AI-powered images analytical algorithms, the scanners have the capability of HS codes recognition, detection of homogenous and non-homogenous materials. Every scan generates real-time insights that strengthen risk management, reduce the possibility of human error and ensure that legal trade moves swiftly while maintaining stringent security standards.
The deployment of these scanners is particularly significant for Pakistan’s trade with China and Iran. By modernizing border infrastructure and aligning local processes with global best practices, NLC is not only enhancing trade compliance but also creating an enabling environment for greater regional connectivity.
