NAB, EFCC Nigeria sign MoU

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking a pivotal step in strengthening international cooperation against corruption and financial crimes.

According to a press statement issued here on Thursday, the MoUwas signed on the sidelines of the 11th Conference of States parties (CoSP11) in Doha, Qatar. The MoU was signed by Chairman NAB, Lt. Gen Nazir Ahmed (retd), and Executive Chairman EFCC, Olanipekun Olukoyode, formalizing a partnership rooted in mutual commitment to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.

This collaboration aligns with Pakistan’s and Nigeria’s obligations under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and reflects a shared vision to combat transnational corruption through sustained bilateral engagement.

Chairman NAB, Lt. Gen Nazir Ahmed (retd) emphasized that “this partnership will not only bolster our investigative and prosecutorial capabilities but also reinforce the global fight against corruption. Together, NAB and EFCC will work to ensure that justice prevails across borders.”
