KARACHI: The Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) has strongly condemned the stoppage of government advertisements for Dawn TV and Dawn Radio, following the earlier suspension of advertisements for the newspapers of the Dawn Media Group.
It said stopping Dawn Media Group advertisements is tantamount to weakening it financially.
In a joint statement, the CPNE President and General Secretary said that since the creation of Pakistan, the Dawn Group has been providing unbiased information. They added that initially the advertisements for its newspapers were halted, and now its electronic platforms are also being deprived of government advertisements.
They demanded that the government immediately resume the release of advertisements to the Dawn Media Group.
