LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message on World AIDS Day said that patients suffering from AIDS deserve compassion not hatred.
She said that AIDS is a major social and economic issue and collective efforts are required for its prevention. Inequalities regarding access to prevention, testing and treatment facilities must be eliminated and affected individuals should be made productive members of a society, she said and acknowledged commendable services of active communities working for eradication and treatment of AIDS.
She reaffirmed Punjab government’s commitment to make affected individuals valuable part of society, adding that effective steps are being by the government to attain desired results till complete stamping out menace of AIDS.
