LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the blind rule of land usurpers in Punjab has ended, as the authorities concerned have been directed to launch a crackdown against land grabbers in the province.
This was stated by her while chairing an important meeting for a detailed briefing and a close review of effective implementation of the new Possession of Property Ordinance.
The CM said that Punjab government has set a historic record by settling 1005 cases of illegal land occupation in just two days, and the relevant authorities presented a detailed report on the matter in the meeting. She highlighted that she is monitoring the situation herself on a live dashboard. She said, “Women’s land cases will be resolved on top priority. As soon as a decision is made on a land case, there will be immediate possession, no delay, no recommendation, no negligence will be tolerated.”
She underscored,” Decision is incomplete until the original owner of the land takes possession, which should be visible on the land as well. Every marla, every kanal, every acre of Punjab will be in possession of its original owner only.”
The CM flagged that if someone illegally occupies some other’s land or property, he/she should apply in the office of respective Deputy Commissioner, who will decide the matter in a few days.
