ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday underscored the critical role of the youth in shaping the nation’s future, calling them the country’s greatest asset.

Speaking at the URAAN Pakistan Debates 2025, he highlighted the government's efforts to equip young Pakistanis with the skills needed to lead through knowledge, innovation, and technology.

Pakistan, he added, is poised for its “fourth historic take-off,” with youth playing a central role in what he described as a coming wave of intellectual and technological progress and noted that the event provided a platform for fostering a new generation of intellectual leadership in the country.

“The youth of Pakistan are not just the future; they are the true strength of this nation,” he said. “Their potential is limitless, and they are destined for a flight towards the stars.”

He also stressed that the government is focused on preparing young Pakistanis to be leaders in the new technological age, through education and creative initiatives.

He called for a renewed focus on Vision 2047, marking the centenary of Pakistan’s independence, as a guiding framework for the country’s growth.

“I urge you to look ahead, focus on Vision 2047, and continue to build upon the spirit of unity and perseverance that has driven Pakistan’s success in the past,” he said.

He added that nations that embrace peace, stability, and sustained reforms are those that achieve lasting progress.

The minister highlighted that under Vision 2025, Pakistan has seen record growth in key sectors, including the stock market, IT, exports, and remittances, positioning the country for a strong and sustainable economic future.

He also spoke of the importance of overcoming societal divisions and promoting youth as ambassadors of peace and unity. “We must empower our youth to become the builders of this nation,” he said, urging young Pakistanis to stay and contribute to the country’s development rather than seeking opportunities abroad.

“Pakistan is a land where dreams can be realized with hard work and dedication,” he concluded.
