ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday said that all the links to the terrorist incidents in Pakistan lead to the neighbouring country.

The minister said this during a meeting with Director General of the United Kingdom National Crime Agency (NCA), Graeme Biggar, the Ministry of Interior said in an official statement.

Naqvi said that all links of terrorism lead to the neighbouring country. Pakistan’s determination and resilience in the fight against terrorism are unmatched globally, he said. He emphasized that modern forensic tools and advanced training can significantly enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in the fields of counterterrorism, narcotics control, human trafficking prevention, forensics, immigration, and police training. It was decided to increase cooperation for training courses for officers of Pakistan’s anti-narcotics and National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

The two sides also agreed to enhance coordination to effectively combat online child exploitation and harassment.

Moreover, they discussed expanding bilateral assistance on extradition matters and agreed to finalise five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Pakistan and the UK soon, covering extradition and other areas of cooperation. DG NCA Graeme Biggar strongly condemned the recent suicide attack in Islamabad and expressed grief over the loss of lives.

Naqvi further stated that Pakistan, with the UK’s support, is taking effective measures to curb illegal immigration. DG NCA Graeme Biggar appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in combating narcotics and reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to continue cooperation with Pakistan across various security sectors.

The meeting was also attended by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), Director General (DG) NCCIA, DG National Forensic Agency, Additional Secretary Interior, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad.
