ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s textile exports registered an increase of 2.5 percent in October on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, whereas they registered a decline by 0.61 percent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.

According to the textile sector’s sources, the total textile exports in October 2025 stood at USD1.62 billion, compared to USD 1.58 billion in September 2025 and USD 1.63 billion in October 2024. The total exports in the first four months (July-October) of the FY2026 reached USD 6.39 billion compared to USD 6.15 billion, showing an increase of 3.9 percent.

It may be mentioned here that because of the overall slow performance of the textile sector and decline in food exports, especially rice, the overall exports declined by 4.04 percent in the first four months of the FY26.

However, the total trade deficit in the (Oct-July) period of the FY26 swelled by 38 percent is USD12.58 billion, compared to USD9.1 billion in the corresponding period of the last year.

Total exports in the four months of the FY26 reached USD 10.45 billion compared to USD10.89 billion in the corresponding period of last year. Whereas imports in the July-October period increased to USD 23 billion compared to USD20 billion in the same period of the previous year.

On the MoM basis, the total exports in October increased by 14 percent and they reached USD2.85 billion compared to USD2.5 billion in September. However, on a YoY basis, the total exports declined by 4.46 percent to USD2.85 billion in the FY26 compared to USD2.98 billion in October FY25.

However, in October, on the MoM basis, imports increased by 3.57 percent as they reached USD6 billion, compared to USD5.85 billion in September. On a YoY basis, the imports in October increased by 20 percent to reach USD6 billion compared to USD 5 billion in the corresponding period of last year.
