Jemima Goldsmith, the ex-wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has called out the government for targeting Khan’s extended family in Pakistan as part of political vengeance.
In a post on X, Jemima stated that her sons’ cousins, Shahrez and Shershah, the sons of Aleema Khan, were “abducted from their homes in front of their young children and held in prison” in recent days.
She further said that another cousin, Hassan Niazi, has been detained in a military prison for over a year.
Jemima also alleged that Pakistani authorities have threatened her sons, Sulaiman and Qasim, with arrest if they travel to Pakistan to visit their father.
“No state should be allowed to target families to settle political scores,” she wrote.
Pakistani officials have not yet commented on the allegations. The claims come against the backdrop of a continued crackdown on PTI leaders, workers, and associates following last year’s unrest.
