Empowered Women Prosperous Pakistan: Shaheena Shair Ali Minister Women Development Department Government of Sindh

TEXT: National Working Women's Day 22nd December, 2024

Since I took over the office of Minister Women Development Sindh various initiatives have been taken to bring the women specially working women at par to explore feasibility of Day Care facility, appointing officers at district level to ensure prompt response to the women in need. Subsequently 15 new Women Complaint Cells and Safe Houses (temporary Shelter for Women) are made functional at districts level.

It is our prime responsibility to take steps in collaboration with other organizations to create congenial atmosphere for Women to participate in nation building in both formal and informal sectors. In this regard we have strong working relation with Labour Department, Social Welfare Department. Besides we have close liaison with Provincial Ombudsman Sindh “The protection against harassment of Women at Workplace” and Sindh Human Rights Commission. In addition to that all the field officers have been assigned to create Awareness and appreciate local Working Women.

In last my heartily appreciation to all the working women for their courage and determination to utilize their talent for the betterment of their families and the province.
