CJCSC Gen Mirza, Australian defence chief discuss regional security
- Both sides reiterate their resolve to further strengthen and enhance security and defence cooperation, according to ISPR
Chief of Defence Forces Australia General Angus J. Campbell called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza in Rawalpindi, the military’s media wing said Monday.
During the meeting, the two senior military leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on defence and security cooperation, regional dynamics, and global security challenges, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the statement, the two countries reiterated their commitment to further strengthening and enhancing security and defence cooperation.
The Australian dignitaries expressed their appreciation for Pakistan’s Armed Forces’ professionalism, their accomplishments in combating terrorism, and their ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, as stated in the press release.
General Angus J Campbell earlier met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.
In a statement, the ISPR said that during their meeting, they engaged in discussions on matters of bilateral professional interest, with a particular focus on the global and regional security environment and cooperation between the two Armed Forces.
Both parties expressed a mutual desire to further expand military-to-military cooperation.
General Angus J. Campbell is on an official visit to Pakistan for the 13th Round of Pakistan-Australia, Defence and Security Talks and the 10th Round of 1.5 Track Security Dialogue.
