KARACHI: Election Commission of Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) has declared the results for their executive committee members for the year 2023-2024.

Junaid Makda was declared as the President of PAJCCI, a unanimous decision proposed by Chairman PAJCCI. Abdul Bari was elected as Senior Vice President, and Shuja Muhammad as Vice President, both receiving unanimous support.

The 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) witnessed a warm welcome extended by Chairman Muhammad Zubair Motiwala to the participants, including business representatives from across Pakistan. Motiwala acknowledged the crucial juncture at hand and emphasised the multitude of challenges that the PAJCCI team has diligently worked on.

He expressed his sincere appreciation for the unwavering dedication of the PAJCCI team in addressing these challenges.

Former President, Jawaid Bilwani, chaired the proceedings. The meeting featured significant discussions and key outcomes, demonstrating the organisation's commitment to fostering bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Bilwani commended the dedication of the PAJCCI team for their remarkable efforts following the resignation of Secretary General Faiza.

Junaid Makda, former President, and Executive Director, delivered a concise presentation on PAJCCI's performance and activities.

There was unanimous acceptance of PAJCCI's Annual Audited Statement for the fiscal year 2022-23, prepared by Reanda Haroon Zakria. Additionally, Reanda Haroon Zakria was appointed as the Auditor for the upcoming financial year 2023-2024.

Junaid Makda, the newly elected President of PAJCCI, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and assured of his commitment to addressing the challenges faced in Pakistan-Afghanistan trade.

He discussed the formation of committees to tackle various trade-related issues.

Qazi Zahid Hussain former president extended his gratitude to Chairman PAJCCI and the AGM attendees.

He briefly reviewed the challenges and achievements of the past year, highlighting the concerted efforts to address various issues with Ministries, DGTT, and FBR.

Faiz Muhammad Faizi conveyed his appreciation to Chairman PAJCCI and the entire team for their effective resolution of the reverse cargo issue, emphasizing that this particular matter falls squarely within PAJCCI's purview and is beyond the scope of any other chamber

Shahid Ismail, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi and Abdul Ghani were also a part of the AGM that addressed their concerns regarding bank transfer issues, reverse cargo, empty containers stuck at Khwar Maidan

Sarhadi, working as the coordinator for PAJCCI, was appreciated by the newly elected President for his valuable contributions.

The AGM concluded with words of gratitude from the chair, acknowledging the collective commitment to resolving issues and advancing the goals of PAJCCI.
