LAHORE: Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP) on Wednesday drew attention of the caretaker cabinet towards the longstanding issues, problems which are affecting the oil industry, as well as, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

In this regard, Chairman OMAP Tariq Wazir Ali wrote letters to Caretaker Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar and Caretaker Minister for Energy, Power and Petroleum Muhammad Ali, drawing their attention towards unresolved issues.

In the letter written to Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Tariq Wazir congratulated her on her appointment as the Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs & Privatization.

“As you step into this crucial role, we at OMAP would like to express our optimism and belief that your valuable experience will play a pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s economic landscape, particularly in the challenging times we are currently facing. Your diverse background and profound understanding of economic affairs have consistently positioned you as a thought leader, and we are confident that under your guidance, our country’s economic policies will take a transformative direction,” the letter says.

As per the letter the petroleum industry, like many others, is also facing difficult times. Tariq Wazir hoped that presence of Dr Shamshad Akhtar in the Ministry will bring positive change. “Your appointment reassures us that rational and pragmatic policies will be formulated, paving the way for a resilient and prosperous Pakistan. Your leadership has the potential to lead us toward economic prosperity, growth, and progress. We, the members of OMAP, are committed to supporting your efforts for a stronger and more resilient economy. Your vision, acumen, and dedication to public service inspire us all,” he said.
