KARACHI: President of the Karachi Press Club (KPC) Saeed Sarbazi said that in collaboration with the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), KPC will organise seminars on economic issues. By inviting the stakeholders to these seminars, dialogues on the economic challenges and their solutions will be organised for the benefit of the authorities.

He expressed these views while addressing a luncheon given in honour of the office-bearers and general body members of the KPC at the offices of KATI.

President KATI Faraz-ur-Rehman, Vice Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vice President Nighat Awan, Standing Committee for Press and Media Chairman Syed Johar Ali Qandhari, former president Tariq Malik, Karachi Press Club General Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, Vice President Mushtaq Saleem, Joint Secretary Aslam Khan, Member Governing Body Shams Kherio, Rameez Vohra, Kulsoom Jahan, Zulfiqar Rajpar, Zulfiqar Wahoocho and others were present.

The president of KPC further said that journalists raise their voices for public issues, the economy and the observance of democratic values in the country, which is the reason why journalists are targeted for revenge, thousands of journalists were killed. Apart from this, journalists are deprived of salaries in institutions.

Earlier, KATI President Faraz-ur-Rehman said that journalists have an important role in conveying the voice of the business community to the upper houses and the ruling class. Media is the main pillar of society, the credit goes to the media for creating awareness among the people.

Faraz-ur-Rehman said that after a long time, the collaboration between KATI and Press Club was established which is welcomed. President KATI said that in the economic conditions that the country is going through, the responsibility of journalists is doubled to support truth.
