KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 121,212 tonnes of cargo comprising 93,385 tonnes of import cargo and 27,827 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 93,385 comprised of 63,608 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 15,100 tonnes of Bulk Cargo & 14,677 tonnes of Wheat.

The total export cargo of 27,827 tonnes comprised of 11,152 tonnes of containerized cargo, 25 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 13,400 tonnes of Clinkers, 2,950 tonnes of Corns & 300 Oil & Liquid Cargo.

As many as, 6739 containers comprising of 4771 containers import and 1968 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1003 of 20’s and 1799 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 85 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 241 of 20’s and 241 of 40’s loaded containers while 91 of 20’s and 677 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Nearly 04 ships namely, Xin Hong Kong, Chem Taurus, High Prosperity and Cul Huizhou have berthed at Karachi Port.

Around, 04 ships namely, Cosco Valencia, Dailan Express, M.T Lahore and Fortune Glory sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 06 cargoes namely Al Salam II, MT Bolan, Long Beach Trader, Budapest Express, Osaka Express and Sea Wolf were expected to arrive at the port.

PORT QASIM

A total of 12 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, a Containers ship, ‘Rosa’ left the Port on Wednesday morning, while 05 more ships, MSC Bridgeport, Hyde Park, Stingray, Maersk Chicago and Akdeniz are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput of 264,099 tonnes, comprising 214,479 tonnes imports cargo and 49,620 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 5,228` Containers (2,864 TEUs Imports and 2,364 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours

There are 13 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 04 ships, Kang Hua Wan, Easterly Beech Galaxy, Protector ST. John and MSC Adelaide & another containers ship ‘Irenes Ray’ scheduled to load/offload Bitumen, Chemicals, Coal and Containers are expected to take berth at MW-1, EVTL, PIBT and QICT on Wednesday, 20th July-2022.
