KARACHI: Gold prices on Wednesday gained a big value on the local market, traders said.

It shot up by Rs 2,500 per tola to Rs 124,100 and Rs 2,144 per 10 grams to Rs 106,396.

The yellow metal price was quoted for $1788 an ounce on the world market.

Silver was available for Rs 1,460 per tola, Rs 1,251.71 per 10 grams and $23.55 per ounce, traders said.
