KARACHI: More monsoon rains are on way to fall across the country from Sept 7 through Saturday, the Met Office said on Monday. Rain-wind-thundershowers expected in the country are during this week with occasional gaps, as it warned that the windstorm may have damaging impacts on valuable like crops, livestock, house structures.

"More monsoon currents are likely to penetrate in the country from Tuesday (evening/night), September 7 and likely to continue (Saturday) till September 11," the Met said.

Rain-wind-thundershowers are expected in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Okara, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh from Sept 7 to Sept 11 with intermittent gaps.

Similarly, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Dir, Chitral, Peshawar, Kohat,

Waziristan, Ghizer, Astore, Diamir, Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Nagar, Ghanche and Kharmang are likely to recieve the wet spell until Saturday.

Heavy falls may also strike Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore and

Kasur from from Wednesday, Sept 8 to Friday, Sept 10.

Tank, Karak, Bannu, DI Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Khanpur, Khanewal, Multan, Kohlu, Loralai, Barkhan, Zhob, Musakhel, Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat and in Sindh province may also see rain-wind-thunderstorm from Wednesday, Sept 8 to Friday, Sept 10.

The rainy spell may bring about a significant change towards the prevailing very humid and hot weather during the forecast period, Met said.

Windstorm may cause damages to the vulnerable structures, besides Heavy rainfall may generate urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore between Sept 8 and Sept 10, it added.

"Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. Monsoon currents likely to reach upper and central parts of the country from Tuesday (evening/night) and may persist during the week," the Met said.
