KARACHI: On Monday, PKR remained unchanged against USD in interbank markets on market close while losing value against USD, Euro, AED and SR in open market thus breaking the upward stride. USD strengthened globally as uncertainty regarding US elections started to subside.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee remained unchanged for both buying and selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 158.10 and 158.20 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 30 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling over last Friday's rates closing at 158.10 and 158.30 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR fell by one rupee for buying and by 50 paisas for selling closing at 184.50 and 185.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR fell by 10 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 42.70 and 43 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 20 paisas for buying and 25 paisas for selling closing at 41.50 and 41.75 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee-greenback parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading activity in the local currency market on Monday.

According to currency dealers, the greenback did not witness any change in its demand and supply situation throughout the trading session as it firmly closed at its opening trend for buying and selling at Rs 157.00 and Rs 158.50, respectively.

On the other hand, the rupee significantly declined its worth in the process of trading against the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from the last Friday's closing of Rs 204.50 and Rs 206.00 to Rs 205.80 and Rs 208.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 10paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs158.50(buying) and Rs158.60(selling) against last rate of Rs158.40(buying) and Rs158.50(selling).

It closed at Rs158.50(buying) and Rs158.60(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs111,600(selling) and Rs113,400(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
