KARACHI: On Thursday, Pakistan Rupee went up against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also went up against AED and SR while remaining unchanged against Euro in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 40 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 165.90 and 166 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 30 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166 and 166.30 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged like yesterday closing at 196.50 and 197.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.10 and 45.30 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 44 and 44.15 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth in the process of trading against the American dollar in the local currency market on Thursday.

Following lack of buyers' interest in the market, the dollar could not sustain its day earlier recoveries and ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 166.00 and Rs 166.90 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 166.20 and Rs 167.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Moreover, the rupee stayed unchanged against the pound sterling for buying at Rs 214.00 whereas it recovered 20 paisas for selling and closed at Rs 215.80 against the opening rate of Rs 216.00, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 50 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.

The dollar opened at Rs167 (buying) and Rs167.10 (selling) against last rate of Rs166.50 (buying) and Rs166.60(selling).

It closed at Rs167 (buying) and Rs167.10 (selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs121,600 (selling) and Rs121,300(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
