KARACHI: On Thursday, Pakistan Rupee again generally exhibited a positive behaviour. It gained value against USD in interbank market. In open market, it went up against USD and SAR, remained unchanged against Euro and fell against AED.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 10 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.90 and 168 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.10 and 168.40 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged like yesterday closing at 197.50 and 199 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.60 and 45.80 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 44.40 and 44.60 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: Pak rupee showed strength and registered gains against the US dollar amid sluggish trading activity in the local currency market on Thursday.

According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading on a depressed note and kept on sliding in the absence of buyers' support. As a result, the dollar ended lower at Rs 167.90 and Rs 168.50 against the overnight closing of Rs 168.30 and Rs 169.50, respectively.

Similarly, the rupee appreciated worth on buying side but declined on the selling side in relation to the pound sterling. The pound was purchased and sold at Rs 218.50 and Rs 219.60 as compared to previous closing of Rs 218.70 and Rs 219.00, respectively, the dealers said.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.

The dollar opened at Rs168.70 (buying) and Rs 168.80 (selling) against same last rate.

It closed at Rs168.70 (buying) and Rs 168.80 (selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold increased to Rs128,200 (selling) and Rs128,000 (selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
