Lebanon's cabinet resigns amid outrage over Beirut explosion

(Karachi) The Lebanese cabinet resigned on Monday amid outrage over deadly blast in Beirut that claimed lives of more than 150 people and injuring 5,000, local media reported. There are reports that Lebanon's Prime Minister Hassan Diab is expected to resign as well.

As per details, Health Minister Hamad Hassan confirmed after cabinet meeting that the whole government has resigned. He added that Prime Minister Hassan Diab will head to the presidential palace to “hand over the resignation in the name of all the ministers.”

At least 160 people were killed while 5,000 were injured in the blast at the Port of Beirut. A fire at a warehouse at the Port of Beirut led to a huge blast causing massive material damage in several neighbourhoods of the capital.

The Lebanese government announced the formation of an investigation committee to probe the deadly incident within a period of five days.
