LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shoaib Dastgir has disclosed that the police department has, so far, sealed 21,531 shops across the province upon violation of the Punjab government's issued corona SOPs.

The IGP unveiled this while presiding over a meeting at the central police office (CPO) on Sunday to review measures taken to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.

"Around 195,924 shops have, so far, been checked in Punjab. Of them, 21,531 shops were sealed and closed upon violation of the corona SOPs," he added.

The IG said that in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus, all the officials in Punjab should perform their duties with more commitment by ensuring strict implementation of the SOPs besides adoption of precautionary measures.
