LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resource Anser Majeed Khan has said that the proposed budget for the Punjab Employees Social Security Institutions (PESSI) for the financial year 2020-2021 has been increased by eight percent.

Advisory bodies will be set up to monitor the performance of each hospital of the institution.

He said this while presiding over 147th meeting of the governing body of PESSI held at head office on Monday. The Minister reviewed the proposals for the revised budget for the financial year 2019-2020 and the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2020-2021. Secretary Labor Aamir Jan and Commissioner PESSI Tanveer Iqbal briefed the salient features and suggestions of the budget.

The Minister directed that details of the products procured for PESSI employees and doctors to protect from Covid-19 should also be provided. The contribution will be received as per the target during the next financial year, he added.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Labor Aamir Jan, Commissioner PESSI Tanveer Iqbal, members of PESSI governing body and other officials as well. It approved the decisions of the 145th and 146th meetings of the governing body. The meeting also lauded the services of the doctors, nurses and paramedics who are providing treatment to the coronavirus patients in hospitals.
