Futures open interest up 8.1 percent

The total open interest position at the futures counter during the week increased by Rs136 million, up 8.1 percent on week-on-week basis to Rs 1.82 billion. The futures spreads, on the other hand, declined by 35bps on week-on-week basis to 6.12 percent.
Trading activities at the futures counter improved as the average daily volumes increased by 17.1 percent on week-on-week basis to 8.2 million shares.
The top five scrips at the futures counter, holding 64 percent of the total open interest, were ENGRO, FFC, NBP, PSO and POL.
