KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active during last 24 hours at the Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers, chemical, diesel oil and edible oil were allotted berths Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday, Dec 14.
Meanwhile six more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, chemicals and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 40 percent at the Port on Thursday where total number of five ships namely M.V Rafflesia, Ionian Sea, Emek-S, Al-Soor-II and SC Stealth are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, chemical, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 1,22,222 tonnes, comprising 114623 tonnes imports and 7599 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 885 containers (Boxes) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Three ships M.V Emek-S, ACX Rafflesia and Ionian Sea sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
