KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active during last 24 hours at the Port where four ships carrying container, chemical, furnace oil and Edible oil were allocated berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Fotco Terminal and liquid Cargo Terminal on 11 Dec.
Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to offload canola grain, edible oil, LPG and chemical also arrived at outer anchorge of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 50 percent at the Port on Monday where total number of six ships namely MV. Maersk Kentucky , Fisher-K, Ionian Sea, MV Golden Ambrosia, Al Buhaira and Sanko Neptune are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers , cement, rice,chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 80,859 tonnes, comprising 72,921 tonnes import and 7,938 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 777 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
One containers vessel MV. Maersk Kentucky sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
One ship of edible oil is expected to sail later on same day.
