Department of Microbiology, University of Sindh in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) organised 2nd National Symposium on 'New Trends and Advancement in Microbiology' here on Thursday. A large number of microbiologists from various universities and research organisation attended the 3-day symposium.
Noted Physicist and member academic, Higher Education Commission Dr Altaf Ali G Shaikh has said the HEC has been contributing in number of research projects. He said that the HEC has provided funding for 761 projects from 2002 to date to the universities and added that it has been funding scholars for setting up of their own laboratories. He said that university professors could apply for funding by filling in a simple form available at HEC website for the development programme of faculty and establishment of their own laboratories.
