Yesterday social media broke with cries when users got to know about Microsoft ending its popular feature of Paint – the graphic editing software that we all grew up using.

After witnessing the sadness spread all over the social media, Microsoft made it clear that it won’t be killing Paint anytime soon. However, it will just head Paint to Windows Store and the users can download it for free.

Microsoft released a support document yesterday in which it declared a list of some of the applications that won’t be present in the Fall Creators Update of Windows 10 that is expected to be implemented by the year’s end. However, MS Paint is certainly not on the list, reported Tech Juice. Moreover, apps including Outlook Express and Reader app are among those features that will be deprecated in the new update.

Microsoft stated on its Windows blog, “Today, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support and nostalgia around MS Paint. If there’s anything we learned, it’s that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans. It’s been amazing to see so much love for our trusty old app. Amidst today’s commentary around MS Paint we wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight, clear up some confusion and share some good news: MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free.”

Microsoft will introduce ‘Paint 3D’ that will also be available for free and along with 3D capabilities, the new creativity feature will contain the previous 2D facilities from the previous Paint feature as well.

The classical app was first released back in 1985 with the initial version of Windows 1.0. Since then, the designing app has come a long way completing 32 years up till now and hopes to extend it further.

Hence, it’s perfectly clear that the application would just be excluded from the default apps section in the forthcoming update but we can always download our beloved childhood app for free from the Windows Store.
