More winter rains is expected on November 20 in the upper parts of the country, and it would be scattered rain. According to a meteorological official here on Tuesday, a westerly weather system is likely to approach upper parts of the country in the few days.
This weather system is likely to produce scattered thunderstorm rain in upper and central Punjab on November 20. "The upper part of the country has already witnessed first winter rain of the session a week ago, but it did not travel to central Punjab, which is still waiting for the first winter rains," they added.
In the context of the central Punjab, they said the winter rains is not delayed, as its arrival varies session to session. "The moisture is there in the air to develop in to rain, but only the westerly wave, which creates low atmospheric pressure, would trigger the rains in the upper parts of the country," they added.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday the weather remained dry in Lahore, although it was partly cloudy. The maximum temperature recorded was 26 Celsius degrees and at night the minimum temperature was 8 Celsius degrees.
