Our country's Budget 2008-09 is likely to be announced soon but each and every citizen of Pakistan, in the wake of persistently rocketing price hike, has the right to know, whether this would be a 'yearly or monthly' budget?
Since the creation of Pakistan its citizens have experienced the worst 300% increasing during the last three months, ie 100% constant increase per month (March, April and May-08) in the prices of all basic necessities of life, required by common men to breath and survive.
All political leaders, soon after taking position on treasury benches, how easily have forgotten their slogans of 'Roti, Kapra aur Makaan with one Dukan' and how easily started speaking in the tone of their predecessors, befooling the innocent public.
They have miserably failed even to hold the prices in their place where from they have taken over the chairs of power, their long cherished dream. They by-passed the limit of selfishness and are now trying to entangle public into unconcerned and politically motivated issues.
What happened to their public promises, critical appreciations in TV talk shows and anti government propaganda they used to stage while in opposition without power? There is no water to drink, no electric to consume, no food to eat, no clothes to wear, no house to live, no work to earn, no medicine to cure, no welfare for peace and no security to survive.
The indexes to stock exchange fall down every day while our currency is getting regularly devalued. Oil price gets high fortnightly, which equally affects increase in transportation, eatables and various commodities of day to day use.
As per the previous traditions of Pakistan, the public was mentally prepared to face price hike only during the holy month of Ramazan but the present government has beaten all previous records and has crowned itself with the trend of introducing monthly and fortnightly price increase.
The citizens who voted for whatever politician, did not, at all, give any verbal or written mandate for induction, elimination and restoration of any individual or group as is being misinterpreted by political figures for their vested interests.
While voting, all voters had only one conception in mind and heart of getting the provision of basic necessities of life within their monetary reach for survival of their family members.
The total turnout of voters in the general election-2008 was recorded below 30% of total population, which so-called victorious leaders claim it to be the mandate of 16 crore people. It will be right to analyse that more than 70% citizens do not like any politician, whose-so-ever.
Now, when both educated and uneducated citizens are alive of day to day development in the country because of print and electronic media; the day is not far, when only 2-4% vote castings will come out and that of only politically related workers or direct beneficiaries, in future without participation of general public, no more interested in false politics. Aawaz-e-Khalq Naqqara-i-Khuda Hoti Hai!
