JOHANNESBURG: South Africa's rand firmed more than 1 percent in afternoon trade on Friday as the dollar reversed gains initially spurred by jobs data in the United States figures.
The rand strengthened to as much as 13.5025 before paring gains to trade 0.4 percent stronger against the dollar at 13.5850 as of 1325 GMT.
