Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where three ships carrying containers and diesel oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday, November 1.
Meanwhile, seven more ships carrying containers, canola seeds, chemicals, palm oil and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 31 percent on Tuesday where four ships namely C.V Sea Land Michigan, C.V Al-Abdali, C.V MSC Anafi and M.T Al-Salam were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers and diesel oil during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 125,474 tonnes, comprising 80,390 tonnes imports and 45,084 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 4,475 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.
C.V MSC Anafi Missouri sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while the more ships C.V Sea land Michigan, C.V Al-Abdali and M.T Al-Salam-II are expected to sail on same day.
A total of six ships C.V ACX Rafflesia, C.V CMA CGM Puccini. M.V STX Viva, M.T Bow Lima, M.T Mali Bu and M.T Sea Sky carrying containers, canola seeds, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP, LCT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday, November 2. Three ships C.V Pisti, C.V Dubai Express and M.T Stolt Sun with containers and palm oil are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, November 3.
