Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem made the motherland proud after he successfully defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver flyweight champion against Philippines Giemel Magramo on Sunday.
The boxer, who is all set to return to Pakistan tonight at 10:30pm at Islamabad airport, has been hailed as the national sporting hero and has been awarded Rs2.5 million by Javed Afridi, the owner of Pakistan Super Leagues franchise Peshawar Zalmi.

In addition to the award, the boxer would now be the new ambassador of Peshawar Zalmi.
