imageISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs Wednesday recommended non-bailable punishment for non-government committees as Moon sighting was only mandate of official Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

The committee met here at Parliament House. The meeting was chaired by Senator Hafiz Hamdullah, chairman of the committee.

The committee also recommended that fine should be increased for announcing moon by non- government committee instead of Ruet-e-Hilal committee.

The committee lauded the performance of ministry of Religious Affairs for providing best facilities to the pilgrims.

Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq said that the government Hajj Policy scheme had been improved.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf thanked the Parliamentarian for appreciating the Hajj arrangements of his ministry.

He said that Prime Minister, Muhammed Nawaz Sharif gave four months honorarium to the employees for best performance.

He said that post of Director General was also approved for Madina Manawara.

He said that on completion of Hajj, the ministry also returned Rs 10,000 to each pilgrims.

He said that Hajj and Umrah Bill would be presented in the Parliament House.

Minister of State for Religious Affairs Pir Amin ul Hasanat also attended the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Senator Raja Zafarul Haq, Senator Baz Muhammad Khan, Senator Muhammad Saleh Shah, Senator Maulana Tanveerul Haq Thanvi, Senator Hamza, Senator Gianchand and senior oficils of ministry of Religous Affairs.
