Federal Minister for Tourism Dr Ghazi Gulab Jamal has said that opening of tourism information center in Japan could play a vital role in the promotion of tourism and intended to open such centers in other Buddhist countries.
According to a statement issued here on Sunday, the minister said they are targeting to attract tourists from Eastern Buddhist countries like Tailand, Malaysia, Philippine, Tunisia, Japan and Indonesia.
He was of the view that due to the huge potential in the religious tourism, tourists from these countries could be attracted.
He further said that the ministry has constant contact with the mountaineers clubs because there are so many things for thrilling and adventurism like high and big mountains and hiking points.
Jamal said the ministry was also arranging free of cost familiarisation trip to invite media men, scholars, and other tourism-related people to Pakistan.
He further pointed out that security and country's image are the basic factors in the promotion of foreign tourists and added that present government has played a vital role in projecting the soft image of the country at international level.
