Rauf Khan Sasooli Deputy Secretary General Jamhoori Wattan Party has advised the opposition parties to forge unity to fight manipulation and interference of government and its sponsored party in the Local Bodies elections being held in the country.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday Sasooli alleged that on one side it was being portrayed that the elections were being held on non-party basis, but on the other hand top brass of the country was campaigning for government sponsored candidates.
He said pressure was being exerted from government quarters for changing of loyalties on Jamhoori Watan Party supported candidates. He said opposition parties despite negative government tactics should not boycott Local Bodies elections as democratic forces by leaving ground open in 1985 by their boycott gave room to those elements that were devoid of political culture and development orientation.
