Two US soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb blast in south-east Afghanistan, the US military said on Saturday, the latest casualties in a surge of violence in recent months. The two were in a convoy in Paktika province, near the Pakistani border when their vehicle was hit by the blast on Friday.
A US soldier and an Afghan interpreter were wounded, the US military said. Ten US service personnel have been killed in combat in Afghanistan since late March.
