imageISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will start Premier Service on the country's Independence Day falling on Sunday.

"A-330 aircraft offering improved entertainment facilities to the on-board passengers will make inaugural flight from Islamabad-London on Sunday," PIA Spokesman Danyal Gillani told APP here Wednesday.

Initially, about six weekly flights from both Islamabad and Lahore would be operated for London without any upward or downward revision of existing fares.

In addition to International routes, PIA would also make the service available on some domestic routes.

The premier service would be available for Club and Economy classes' passengers on board the newly acquired aircraft from Sri Lanka on lease.

Meanwhile, he said PIA had launched new logo of its Premier Service besides unveiling a new uniform for the crew members of the service.

Answering a question, he said the crew members for Premier flights had already been imparted special training to properly look after the passengers on-board.

He said the aircraft could carry about 330 passengers and crew, and PIA had already sold out all the tickets for the inaugural flight.

Meanwhile, due to operational reasons and scheduled adjustments in the first few weeks, following three weekly PIA Premier flights have been rescheduled:

The PIA flights operating on Mondays and Wednesdays as PK 786 (London-Islamabad) have been replaced by PIA Premier flights, PK 758 (London-Lahore) while PIA flight operating on Tuesdays as PK 758 (London-Lahore) has been replaced by PIA Premier flight PK 786 (London-Islamabad).

PIA is arranging swift connecting flights for affected passengers, between Islamabad and Lahore, without additional cost, allowing them to conveniently reach their final destination. Passengers' immigration and luggage collection will also be done at the originally scheduled destination.

PIA has offered apologies for any inconvenience this may cause to its valued customers and management has given directions to ensure that passengers get smooth and hassle-free connecting flights.

In case of any query or clarification, passengers are advised to contact PIA Call Center at 021-111-786-786.

The inaugural flight of PIA Premier PK-785 will depart from Islamabad airport at 1400 hrs on August 14, 2016.
