imageKARACHI: Adviser to Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Yameen heard complaints against excessive billing by K-Electric (K.E.) at Deputy Commissioner Malir's Camp Office.

The adviser expressed, "K.E. is still not avoiding in sending excessive bills to the poor", as the Ombudsman office continue to receive dozens of applications against the power utility from consumers, said a handout issued here on Thursday.

An applicant, Muhammad Ashraf, claimed that K.E. officials raided his house and later handed him over a bill of Rs. 100,000 and ordered him to pay it instantly otherwise his connection would be disconnected.

Adviser Muhammad Yameen expressing his displeasure over the incident, directed K.E. representatives to avoid such acts. He told the applicant that his case was special and therefore he should move the common court of law for compensation.

Another applicant, Muhammad Tufail, said that he did not ever steal electricity, but still he received an excessive bill. The Adviser provided instant justice by ordering deduction in excessive bill.

The adviser also disposed of a number of other complaints regarding excessive billing.
