ISLAMABAD: The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) in its ongoing operation against power pilferers and defaulters disconnected supply to over 500 defaulters outstanding besides removing around 400 illegal connection in Badin district.
The spokesman told that electricity supply was suspended to the defaulters for not clearing Rs 80 million dues.
He said that operation was conducted in Shahi Bazar, Chando Nagar, Ilyas Gopang, Memon Mohalla and other areas.
Meanwhile, Xen Badin Abdul Sattar said HESCO officials were being threatened by Imtiaz and Taj Muhammad for launching operation against the defaulters and removing illegal connections.
He said that written complaint has been registered with Deputy Commissioner and SP Badin in this regard.
The Spokesman said some miscreants were not only paying their bills but also instigating people to attack the Xen office.
He said some 200 people attacked the Xen Operation office and ransacked it while the local administration did not provide any security.
