The Habib Bank Limited has been awarded 'the best overall bank in the subcontinent" by Emerging Market, a Euromoney publication.
"The announcement was made at the recently held annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in South Korea," according to a release issued by the HBL.
It is for the first time that a Pakistani bank has been given this distinction, and reflects the continuing improvement of the bank's performance, extensive domestic franchise, sound balance sheet footings and a market growth in its profitability.
The bank has taken a lead in implementing modern IT system, which will further strengthen the delivery capabilities to its extensive customer base.
