'Only CNICs valid for all purposes'

Ministry of Interior and Narcotics, Interior Division, has once again said that only computerised national identity cards are valid for all purposes.
A Sindh government press release on Friday said that the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics (Interior Division) has reiterated for information of all concerned that only computerised national identity cards are valid for all purposes and manual national identity cards should not be entertained any more for any purpose.
The press release further said that it has been brought to the notice of the government that certain government departments/ organisations have allowed their clients to use the old manual national identity cards in disregard of the SRO No 1139(1)/2003 dated 31-12-2003 under which January 31, 2004 was declared as the expiry date of validity of manual national identity cards under section 10 of Nadra Ordinance 2000.
