Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmed nominated Syed Munawwar Hassan as the party's Secretary General in a meeting held at Mansoora here on Wednesday.
Syed Munawwar Hassan, who was nominated as secretary general, in consultation with the Shoora members for a third four-year tenure, took oath at the same sitting.
The JI Ameer in Shoora session, which lasted over three hours, briefed members on the party position regarding the political situation prevailing in the country.
