Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Shipping activity remained brisk at the Port where five ships scheduled to load/offload containers, chemicals and diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO oil Terminal respectively on Sunday October 2.
Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers and phosphoric acid also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during lost 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 77% on where a total of ten ships namely C.V Izumo, C.V Maersk Wyoming, C.V Al- Ihsa'a, M.V Vina Line Sky, M.V Hiba AI-Nour, M.V Alexi-I, M.T Mal Pensa, M.V Kayo Pioneer.
M.T Kind Seas and M.T Chrisopigi Lady are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, corn, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the Port where a cargo volume of 0.125 million tonnes comprising 0.097 million tonnes imports and 0.028 million tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,237 containers (TEUsl was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Three ships C.V Maersk Wyoming, C.Y AI-Isho'a and M.T Molpensa sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships C.V AI-Isha'a and M.T Chrisopigi Lady are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Three ships M.V Acena, M.T Bunga Kantaan Tiga and M.T Kasugta carrying iron ore, palm oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at IOCB, LCT and EVTL respectively on Monday October 3.
