Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said on Thursday the government was aware of problems being faced by the people due to shortage of housing units in the country and was making efforts to resolve them by initiating new housing schemes and projects.
The Prime Minister also instructed Minister for Housing and Works Syed Safwanullah to intensify efforts in this regard, who along with Minister for Communications Babar Khan Ghauri called on him here at the Prime Minister's House.
The ministers discussed with the Prime Minister matters pertaining to their respective ministries with special reference to the ongoing development projects undertaken by their ministries.
The two ministers apprised the Prime Minister of the progress made so far in this regard.
The minister for communications exchanged views on matters relating to further improvement in the communication network in accordance with the directions of the Prime Minister.
The minister for housing and works briefed the Prime Minister on the progress made so far with regard to developing and implementing the low-cost housing project.
While talking to Minister for Information Technology Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari, the Prime Minister has expressed his government's determination to undertake efforts for the speedy development of the Information Technology (IT) sector in the country.
During the meeting, matters relating to the development of Information Technology came under discussion.
Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari was accompanied by Balochistan Minister for Information and IT Syed Matiullah Agha.
The provincial minister also exchanged views on matters relating to provision of Sui Gas and electricity to Pashin district in Balochistan and the NFC award.
Senator Gulzar Ahmad Khan also called on the Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and exchanged views with him on matters relating to the Upper House of Parliament.
