Lieutenant General Hafiez, Chairman NAB, on Wednesday presented Bureau's Annual Report (2003) to President General Pervez Musharraf in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
The report, while taking an account of structural and institutional shortfalls, concludes that the Bureau investigated 1274 cases followed by prosecution in 644 cases with a conviction ratio of 80 percent.
The Bureau recovered Rs 3.625 billion through plea-bargains and voluntary returns.
The cash recoveries against bank defaults amounted to Rs 110.64 billion.
The President appreciated NAB performance and advised the Bureau to work hard to reach national success goals through renewed vigour and zeal in its endeavours against corruption.
