Additional Session Judge Abdul Sattar has awarded death sentence and fined Rs 50,000 ($862 to an honour killer, Bakht Ali, who had killed Ghulam Yasin, an alleged paramour of his wife, in Jalalpur Pirwala on June 12, 2001.
Later, he killed his wife, Tasleem Bibi, and his daughter having suspicion of illicit ties.
The police have registered two cases against him. One case got registered by Ghulam Nazik, brother of Ghulam Yasin, who alleged that his brother was shot dead by Bakht Ali when he was sitting in his house while another case was registered on the report of Ghulam Fareed, but later killers in-laws forgave him.
However, Ghulam Yasin's parents pursued the case, and they proved that the killer made an abortive attempt to take advantage of honour.
The family sources said that Ghulam Yasin kidnapped Tasleem bibi two years before her marriage when her parents refused to give her hand.
Later, he returned her following the decision of "Puchayat"(local jury).
HONOUR KILLING: A farmer, Azhar Ali Khanana Siyal, hatched his wife and her paramour to death in village Lashkari (Jhang) some 100-mile north of Multan.
"Mst.Pathani Bibi was missing from home when her husband Azhar Ali came back, then he searched her and found her in a field with Shahadat Hussain alias Shaddu, a husband of her sister. She was married to Azhar two years ago, and was a mother of a child," Police said.
