Punjab government has approved a grant of Rs 200 million during current fiscal year for undertaking water supply and sewerage scheme and construction of roads in Pasrur and Daska tehsils of Sialkot district.
Official sources on Saturday told Business Recorder here that work on these projects would be out carried soon in both tehsils. The step has been taken for replacing the decades-old sewerage and drainage of Pasrur and construction of roads and sewerage system in Daska.
The sewerage and roads are in deteriorated condition as a result of which the people are confronted with serious problems due to choked drains and broken roads.
Daska is famous for manufacturing agricultural tools and implements and for production of quality rice.
Apart from this, Sialkot district government had obtained approval from Punjab government for reconstruction of 80-bed Civil Hospital at Daska. The step has been taken for providing better health facilities to the people of Daska and adjoining areas.
Sources said that district government is spending more than Rs 255 million on health sector during current fiscal period in Sialkot, Daska and Pasrur tehsils.
Besides, over Rs 21.4 million is being spent on repair and construction of tehsil headquarters hospitals, basic health units, and rural health centres.
